With the publication and subsequent worldwide success of their book The way, a Practical Guide to Christian Living, Godfrey Robinson and Stephen Winward demonstrated that they had an unusually effective understanding of the mind of the modern young person, as well as the gift of expressing Christian truth in clear and forceful prose.
Their subsequent publications have confirmed these qualities, and it was no surprise when their articles on problems of Christian Service, published in the monthly Crusade, were voted by readers to be the most helpful feature of that magazine.
The chapters of this book have been based on those articles, but have been re-written for this more permanent format. They deal with a wide range of subjects, from preparing and delivering an address to keeping proper accounts and practising proper efficiency in church business.
The subjects are dealt with in such a way that any person engaged in Christian service today, regardless of age, denomination, etc. will find this book a mine of invaluable information as well as an inspiration to better things.
